Veteran Open Workshop Session

Service Description

Life Skills Queensland in conjunction with the support of The Oasis Townsville is opening it's doors to the veteran community, on the second Monday and the last Friday of every month, up until December 2021. The aim is to promote good mental health and connections for the veteran community of North Queensland. Unfortunately the sessions are only available to veteran's, their immediate family and supports and Ex-Service Organisations. The sessions will allow veterans to utilise the base level of services of Life Skills Queensland at no charge. Veterans may come to as many sessions as they wish. Veterans may choose to; Come in for a social visit and impart their knowledge for other veterans to tap into. Learn or brush up on existing hand and power tool skills.. Complete one of Life Skills Queensland catalogued woodworking projects. (All costs covered) Learn the basics about using resin. Utilise the workshops tooling to complete their own small woodworking projects. (Costs of materials not covered or supplied) Utilise the workshop tooling to work on other small projects such as push bikes, small engines and other small projects. (Costs of materials not covered or supplied) Please note - LSQ cannot support works on motor vehicles or motorcycles or support the storage of large projects between sessions. All sessions run from 9am till midday.
