Service Description
As part of funding received from The Smith Family, we proudly offer workshops to people in the community who meet one of the following criteria: • families with low incomes • young-parent families • jobless families • sole-parent families • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families • families from culturally and linguistically diverse communities • families with a parent (or child) who has a disability • families experiencing problems with housing, domestic violence, substance abuse, mental health or child protection. And reside in one of the following suburbs: • Aitkenvale • Currajong • Gulliver • Garbutt • Heatley • Vincent • West End The serving tray is a practical project, that has a variety of uses. It could be used as a table centrepiece, serving tray to transport food or drinks or even a desk/bedside table/coffee table organiser! In this workshop you will be building the serving tray. This workshop covers a range of skills and utilises multiple hand and power tools. Skills include: measuring, marking, drilling, using clamps and many more. The pocket hole join will make an appearance again to build the frame. This project is suitable for adults and children aged 8 and above. If booking for a child, a parent/guardian/support worker is required to stay for the duration of the workshop. Enclosed shoes are a must.
